Storm Team 12: Clouds & rain chances

December 11, 2011|By Meteorologist Ross Janssen | Storm Team 12

Clouds will remain in Kansas tonight and Monday as moisture continues to stream out of the southern US.

The evening sprinkles in Wichita will dry up with lows tonight staying above freezing for much of the state. Lows in the NW will drop into the low 20s with south winds regionwide.

Monday looks cloudy with areas of drizzle possible. Highs will be in the 40s statewide (except in the NW where there is a little snow still on the ground).

Drizzle will turning to freezing drizzle or some light freezing rain in NW Kansas Monday night and early Tuesday with some light ice accumulation possible. Travel could be dangerous in those areas. Much of Kansas will see rain by Tuesday morning, but temperatures will be above freezing, so ice is NOT expected. Highs on Tuesday should be close to 50 for much of the area.
