(WICHITA, Kan.) — Wichitans out Christmas shopping Friday afternoon may have found holiday traffic worse than normal.

According to Westar Energy, a transformer blew at 12:20 p.m. knocking out power to businesses and traffic lights near the area of Rock Road & K-96

Wichita police officers were sent in to direct traffic while crews worked to restore power to 915 customers.
