(GARDEN CITY, Kan.) — Garden City police arrest three teenagers for dozens of car burglaries between April and November.

Police say the burglaries happened throughout the city, but the hardest hit area was the northern part of Garden City. They says suspects were stealing items from unlocked vehicles.

Investigators say they received a tip indicating who may have been involved in the burglaries. After investigating, Garden City police say officers arrested a 16-year-old boy and two 17-year-old boys.

Police say the suspects either walked or rode bicycles around town looking for unlocked vehicles to steal items out of. They say the three carried backpacks to carry things that were stolen.

One of the suspects faces 22 counts of auto burglary, theft and conspiracy, the other two face 25 counts each. The estimated loss from victims is $4,000.
