WICHITA, Kan. — The Wichita Thunder announced Thursday that forward Alex Bourret has been selected as the Sher-Wood/CHL Player of the Month for December and has also been called-up to the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League.
Bourret had a tremendous month, scoring 23 points (9g, 14a) and had a four-point performance in Wichita's overtime win at Texas on December 18th. The Drummondville, PQ native scored on a penalty shot against the Brahmas on December 9th and was also a +9 during December. Bourret is currently tied for fourth-place in scoring with 39 points (13g, 26a) and has scored in 10 of his last 11 games. He had a nine-game point streak and a four-game goal scoring streak snapped this past Friday against Texas. Bourret was recently named as a reserve to the 2012 CHL All-Star Game and leads the team with 11 multi-point games including seven games where he scored three or more.
