Hardly a cloud in the sky this morning across Kansas. Winds have shifted around to the south as a warm front moved through overnight. Southerly winds will continue to be on the increase today ahead of an approaching cold front that is expected to arrive late Monday. Wind gusts between 30-35 mph will be possible through the afternoon hours with the higher gusts expected along the Kansas Turnpike and sections of southeast Kansas. With all the sunshine and southerly winds, high temperatures will top out in the upper 50s to lower 60s today.
A few more clouds will invade the state Sunday night and Monday, along with a cold front that will push through the northern sections of the state. This boundary should eventually slide south into southern Kansas by afternoon. Highs Monday will not be in the 30s and 40s across northern Kansas and 50s to mid 60s in the south and southeast parts of the state.
Some light snow flurries will be possible in northwest Kansas Monday night. Otherwise a brisk north wind and colder temperatures will be the rule, especially for Tuesday as highs struggle to reach the lower to middle 30s!
Milder weather will once again find its way back into Kansas by Thursday and Friday as our mild winter continues.
