No weather penalties on this Superbowl Sunday. Sunshine will make a great return, after a cloudy and cold Saturday. A few clouds are lingering across central and eastern Kansas this morning, however they should give way to sunny skies by afternoon as high pressure builds into Kansas. This area of high pressure will also keep winds less than 20 m.p.h. statewide. Highs will still be on the cool side in the 30s (over fresh snowcover) and 40s across the remainder of Kansas.
Mostly clear skies and light winds tonight will allow for temperatures to drop into the teens and 20s, which is right around normal for early February.
Milder readings are on the way for Monday before the next weather system arrives on Tuesday. It will bring a chance of some light rain and snow to the state. While the next system doesn't look a strong as its predecessor, we'll continue to monitor it closely over the next few days.
