WICHITA, Kan. — Thunder netminder Adam Russo stole the show, making save after save and earned his third shutout of the season as Wichita (31-12-2) skated by the Tulsa Oilers (21-18-5) Friday night with a 3-0 win at INTRUST Bank Arena. Matt Robinson scored twice for the fourth time this season and RG Flath had three helpers to pace the Thunder. Wichita wins the season-series against Tulsa seven games to four and remains in first place in the Berry Conference with 64 points.
Wichita jumped out to a 2-0 lead as Robinson (20) added a pair of goals in a five minute span. His first came with just over five minutes to go in the second period as he beat Tulsa goalie Steve Christie while being hooked by a defender. Robinson's second (21) of the game came at 19:04 after he stole the puck in the neutral zone and extended the Thunder lead to 2-0. Christie took the loss despite only seeing 15 minutes of work after starter Ian Keserich left the game due to an apparent injury. Keserich returned in the third period for the Oilers.
