Shocks dominate Blue Jays in Omaha

(OMAHA, Neb.) — Wichita State (22-4, 13-2) now holds a two-game lead in the Missouri Valley conference as they dominated 17th ranked Creighton (21-5, 11-4) in Omaha to 89 to 68.

Joe Ragland and Ben Smith each scored more than 20 points a piece for Wichita State as the Shockers shot nearly 60% from the field for the entire game.  The Shockers were also extremely effective from the free throw line shooting a perfect 17 of 17 from the charity stripe.

Smith tied a career-high for points with 22 while Ragland finished with an impressive 24.  Four Shockers finished in double-figures scoring against the Blue Jays. 

Meanwhile the Shockers' defense held reigning Valley Player of the Year Doug McDermott to a mere 13 points and held the entire Creighton team to shooting just around 20% from three-point range (5 of 23)
