{WICHITA, Ks.} — After taking a lead midway through the third period, Wichita (31-13-2) allowed three goals in the final 13 minutes as Rapid City (25-16-4) came from behind and won 3-1 Saturday night at INTRUST Bank Arena in front of the second largest crowd in franchise history (13,168). Konrad Reeder had three points and Tim Boron made 32 saves on 33 shots in his first appearance against his former team this season. The loss ends Wichita's six-game winning streak and is just the fifth loss this season on home-ice for the Thunder.
Alex Bourret (16) scored the only goal through the first 40 minutes when he caught a nice feed from Chris Chappell and beat Boron. It was his first goal since January 25th against Arizona in just his second game back after playing with Worcester of the AHL.
Rapid City tied the game in the third period at the 7:48 when Shawn Limpright stole the puck at the Wichita line, found Collin Circelli behind the defense and tied the game at one. The Rush took its first lead of the game at 17:31 as Konrad Reeder put home a rebound to make it 2-1. Wichita pulled its goaltender and had the puck in the offensive zone for the final minute of play, but Limpright was able to end it with an empty-net goal at 19:51 and the Rush won 3-1.
