{CHICAGO, Ill.} — Former Shocker pitcher Nate Robertson is now officially a Chicago Cub, Eyewitness Sports learned Saturday night.  No details of the deal have been released yet.

Robertson was a free agent this season after finishing a stint with the Seattle Mariners.  He was first drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 5th round of the 1999 MLB draft out of Wichita State.  First called up in the 2002 season by the Marlins, Robertson was soon traded to the Detroit Tigers.  He was with the Tigers until 2009 when he left to play once again for the Marlins and later for the Phillies.

Robertson signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners in 2011 with an invitation to work out for spring training.

The former Shocker is also a part owner of the Wichita Wingnuts independent league baseball team.
