(WICHITA, Kan.) — A little boy falls out of a moving vehicle and his mother doesn't notice. The incident happened Sunday afternoon in the 2000 block of West Rita, a few blocks from his home.
Someone saw a two-and-a-half year old boy running down the street, bleeding from his face. The person called police.
Police found the child's mother who told them he was riding in the backseat of her car and was restrained by a lap belt. She says the boy removed the seat belt, opened the door and fell out of the car. The mother says she didn't realize it happened until she got home to the 2000 block of south Hirem.
The boy was admitted to the hospital and will be put into protective custody. The 22-year-old mother was not arrested.
