(WICHITA, Kan.) — Firefighters have put out a house fire at Ninth and Terrace in Wichita. Smoke and flames were visible. There are no injuries according to 911 Dispatch.

There was significant damage to the house. Current estimates are about $50,000.

The Wichita Fire Department said that a person drove over a fire hose at the scene despite being warned to stop. There is a fine for driving over the hose as well as additional fines for any damage.

Driving over a fire hose can stop or reduce the flow of water, putting firefighters and fire victims at risk.

Fire officials say that people should avoid the scene of an emergency unless necessary and to follow all instructions given by police or firefighters.
