The Kansas State Wildcats (#8) won their 2nd Round NCAA game against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles (#9). The final score was Southern Mississppi 64 - Kansas State 70.
The Wildcats were up by three going into halftime. Southern Miss went on a run at the beginning of the 2nd half to take on the lead. Kansas State came back to take the lead again, but the game was tight most of the half until the final minute when K-State expanded the lead by making free throws, despite a 3-point bucket by the Golden Eagles in the last few seconds of the game.
The Wildcats leading scorer Rodney McGruder held on to the title with 30 points.
No other player came even close. Junior forward Jordan Henriquez has 15 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. Freshman guard Angel Rodriguez who started in today's game has 13 points.
