(WICHITA, Kan.) — A 41-year-old woman told police that her 37-year-old boyfriend or ex-boyfriend held her at gunpoint Monday morning in the 300 block of East Kellogg.
He threatened to shoot her but changed his mind, according to the woman. He then asked her to shoot him.
She refused and then he shot himself in the stomach. The man is in critical condition at Via Christi at St Francis Hospital.
Police say they are interested in the man as they believe he may be a suspect in two robberies. The first was a robbery of a McDonalds at 411 S. Broadway and the second was at a Family Dollar store located at 322 E. 13 Street.
Investigators will continue to work to determine if the man was involved in the robberies.
