(WICHITA, Kan.) — Feelings are mixed after the City of Wichita produces a video meant to grab the attention of late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

It all started a couple weeks ago when Kimmel took shots at the city on his show.
Kimmel poked fun at the city as a spring break destination. “Hey spring breakers, why fight the crowds in Florida or Cancun, when you can party hardy for less than half the price in wonderful Wichita, we have the second largest IMAX theater,” the skit says.

Since then Wichita leaders, even the mayor have used joke at a marketing tool. They’ve invited Kimmel to come to Wichita.

Now, a city produced video has quickly gone viral. It uses a cardboard cutout of the Kimmel.  It includes Kimmel binge drinking in Old Town and vomiting in the Arkansas River.

Mayor Carl Brewer says he’s seen the video. He says although may have done some things differently, he approves.
"we have to step back and laugh at things," says Brewer.

He says it’s important to remember the video is meant for a late night talk show audience.

"It provides people the opportunity to know there is a Wichita and they do have a sense of humor and they're not back in the 1800's on wagon trains. Wichita is different," added Brewer.

The city used 13 employees as actors in the video. A spokesman says most shots took no more than 15 minutes. He says the city spent about an hour and a half shooting the segment and two hours editing it.
