Bill Self named 2012 Naismith Coach of the Year

(NEW ORLEANS, LA) — Kansas men's basketball coach Bill Self has been named the 2012 Naismith Men's College Basketball Coach of the Year.

The honor makes KU the only school to have three different winner's of the award. Self joins 1988 winner Larry Brown and 1997 winner Roy Williams.

Self has led the Jayhawks to a 31-7 record this season and a trip to the National Championship Game Monday night. That record includes a perfect 16-0 mark at Allen Fieldhouse.
