April 01, 2012|By Meteorologist Ross Janssen | Storm Team 12

After seeing a summerlike end to the weekend, expect a cold front to move into Kansas Monday, leading to thunderstorms and much cooler temperatures for much of the week.

Clear skies and quiet weather is expected for the overnight hours with gusty south winds.

Monday will see increasing clouds as the cold front moves into the state during the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the 60s for the northwest, while the Wichita area should be in the low 80s. Storm chances will increase Monday evening and into the overnight, with some isolated severe storms possible.

Tuesday will be much cooler with off and on rain showers for the area. Highs will generally be in the 50s and 60s for much of the state.
