(WICHITA, Kan.) — Wanna help keep the Arkansas River area clean?  Take part in the 11th Annual River Trash Round Up.

It's set for 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 21.

Volunteers should meet in the southeast corner of the Lawrence-Dumont Stadium parking lot for check-in, gloves and bags. Volunteers should wear clothing that can get dirty – preferably long pants and not shorts – and sturdy shoes. Canoeist and kayakers are welcome to bring their boats. Volunteers will receive an event T-shirt and enjoy a post-cleanup cookout.

"There is no need to pre-register, just come out the morning of the event," said Libby Albers, an event coordinator in a press release. "Previous clean-up events have recovered more than a ton of trash from the river and its banks. Volunteers can have a real impact on cleaning our river in a short period of time."

Sponsors will provide gloves and trash bags for volunteers as well as a packer truck to collect debris. Transportation to locations along the river will be provided.
