Cyclist hospitalized after being hit by a car

(HUTCHINSON, Kan.) — A cyclist is in the hospital after being hit by a car in Hutchinson. The accident happened Wednesday afternoon at 4th and Severance.

Hutchinson police say 66-year-old Jerry Ybarra was taken to the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with a head injury. He's listed in stable condition. Police say he wasn't wearing a helmet when the accident happened.

The accident is under investigation. Thirty-seven year-old Jason Collins was driving the vehicle, he was not injured. No citations have been issued.
