Severe weather is the main concern today across central and eastern Kansas.
Scattered showers and storms this morning are not expected to be severe (except over northern Oklahoma and extreme southeast Kansas), but may have some small hail and gusty winds. They will move to the northeast and out of the area by midday.
Another round of much stronger, severe storms are expected this afternoon. The main threat for severe weather should arrive after 4 p.m. Storms will develop over central Kansas and move east/northeast into the evening hours. Tornadoes, large hail, and damaging wind gusts will be possible with any of the storms that fire up in the early evening hours. A line of severe storms is expected to progress through the central and eastern Kansas overnight.
The storm threat will move east late Saturday night into Sunday, most of the storms will be in eastern Oklahoma and Missouri.
