The City of Wichita released a map which shows Wichita properties located within the tornado impact zone. Beginning Thursday, tree limbs and brush located in the tornado impact zone will be collected by the City of Wichita Public Works & Utilities staff.

Property owners must place brush and tree limbs at the curb for pickup. City employees are not permitted to collect debris on private property or outside the impact zone. “City employees cannot walk across yards to drag tree limbs to public property,” said Alan King, Director of Public Works & Utilities.  Saturday’s tornado, which took a northeast track along the Kansas Turnpike and affected properties as far south as 71st Street and as far north as Central Avenue, left debris in addition to tree limbs and brush. Other debris can be hauled for disposal at one of the four sites listed below but regular disposal fees will apply to the property owner.
