April 17, 2012|By Meteorologist Mark Larson | Storm Team 12

Monday's calm winds and cool temperatures will give way to gusty winds and more warmth Tuesday.

A few early sprinkles over northeastern Kansas will dry up by mid-morning followed by decreasing clouds. Strong southerly winds and warmer temperatures are in on the way to Kansas Tuesday with afternoon highs in the low to mid 70s and wind gusts near 35 mph out west.

Wednesday should be warm and dry under a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky with more gusty southerly winds.

Our next chance for storms will arrive Thursday evening as a cold front approaches from the north.

Behind the front Friday it will be breezy and cooler under partly cloudy skies.
