Justin Edwards is charged in the death of an El Dorado infant.
Prosecutors charged Edwards with first degree murder on Wednesday for the death of 18-month old Jayla Reed.
Reed's mother, Alyssa Haag, is also charged with first degree murder in her daughter's death.
El Dorado police say the mother's story was inconsistent with the child's injuries...when they were called in to investigate.
Haag and Edwards are both due back in court next month.
