After a cooler weekend, it looks like south winds will push summerlike temperatures back across the central Plains by Tuesday.
Frost is possible in a few areas of central and northern Kansas, but Monday afternoon should see temperatures ranging from around 70 in southcentral Kansas to near 80 in the northwest. The wind is expected to be out of the south.
The big surge in temperatures will come Tuesday and Wednesday when much of the state will be well into the 80s, but lower 90s are forecast for western Kansas with gusty south winds.
The next chance for storms will arrive by Thursday.
