(SHAWNEE COUNTY, Kan.) — A woman is hurt and a natural gas line ruptured after a car accident Wednesday night near Topeka.
The woman rolled her car near the East Topeka exit (SE 21st & Shiloh Ridge Lane) of the Kansas Turnpike.
The gas line was part of an old rest area.
For a time, drivers on the Turnpike were not allowed to exit at East Topeka and had to continue to the South Topeka exit instead. The exit reopened when Kansas Gas Service crews shut off the gas.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
