WICHITA, Kan. — Seven Shockers had multi-hit games to lead the Wichita State baseball team to a 13-3 win over Dallas Baptist in the first game of a three-game series on Friday night at Eck stadium.
Josh Smith got the win on the mound for the Shockers. He pitched seven innings, allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out four.
Johnny Coy went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI at the plate. Ryan Hege went 2-for-3 with a homerun and three RBI.
Dallas Baptist took the lead off the first pitch of the game when Austin Elkins hit a homerun over the left field wall.
The Shockers would answer and take the lead in their half of the first. Back-to-back groundouts by Don Lambert and Johnny Coy scored Erik Harbutz and Dayne Parker to put Wichita State up, 2-1.
