(WICHITA, Kan.) — You can now drive a little faster when driving into Wichita on Kellogg. The city raised the speed limit from 45 to 55 miles per hour in the westbound lanes of Kellogg between Webb and Greenwich.
The same segment of road going eastbound will remain at 45 miles per hour. The city also lowered eastbound lanes from Greenwich to Zelta from 55 to 45 miles per hour.
The Wichita City Council will be asked to approve the speed limit changes at its meeting Tuesday. In the meantime, the City's Traffic Engineer has approved the temporary speed limit changes.
The city says traffic data analyzed determined the changes are more appropriate for those sections of Kellogg.
There is no legal method for the city to unilaterally set aside prior convictions for traffic citations. People who have been convicted of a traffic violation for speeding in this area need to file a motion with the court asking that the conviction be set aside.
