Escaping dog gets job as guard

(WICHITA, Kan.) —
It looked like the end for an aggressive dog in Louisiana, until a judge came up with a compromise. Instead of ordering the wolf-dog hybrid to be destroyed, the judge gave the dog a life sentence -guarding the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola.

Neighbors had testified in court, Chief often escaped from his owner's property and terrorized them. He faced euthanasia until the prison stepped in with the idea that Chief's aggressive behavior made him a perfect fit for duty at the prison.
