{TERRE HAUTE, IN} — Wichita State (28-22) scored 2 runs in the 8th inning but Robby Ort's three-run home run in the bottom of that frame proved to be the difference as the Shockers lost to Indiana State (36-11) 6-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Kris Gardner started strong for the Shockers throwing 7 innings giving up one earned run on four hits and striking out four.  However, T.J. McGreevy came in in the 8th and gave up four earned runs including the three-run home run to give the Sycamores the lead.  McGreevy is now 2-3 on the season.

Sycamores' starter Sean Manaea held the Shockers in check for the first 7 innings, striking out 9.  However he was only able to get one out in the 8th inning as Wichita State scored two runs to tie the game at 2.

Tyler Baker would drive in one run in the 9th but it wasn't enough as Wichita State loses its second-straight game to Indiana State.  The Shockers' first five hitters went a combined 2-16 on the day against Manaea.
