Starter A.J. Ladwig improved to 4-1 with the win. He went six innings and gave up two runs on seven hits with no walks and one strikeout. Albert Minnis earned the save with three shutout innings in relief.
The Shockers took their first lead in the series with a runs in the third inning. With one out, Josh Halbert reached on an error and scored on a triple to right-centerfield by Erik Harbutz. Dayne Parker singled up the middle to score Harbutz to give WSU a 2-0 lead. Parker advanced to second on a balk and after a walk to Don Lambert, both runners advanced on a throwing error by the pitcher on a failed pickoff attempt. Casey Gillaspie's sac fly to left field scored Parker and Micah Green doubled to left field to bring home Lambert for a 4-0 lead.
