18-year-old killed in Ellis County crash

(ELLIS COUNTY, Kan.) — A teen from Larned dies in a crash Monday morning in Ellis County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the wreck happened around 9:40 on U.S. Highway 183 about eight miles south of Hays. Investigators say 18-year-old Trevor Houston Greathouse was driving north and a truck driven by a Hays man was going south. The two vehicle collided head on.

Greathouse died at the scene. The driver of the truck was taken to a hospital in Hays. Investigators have not determined what caused the crash.
