(HUTCHINSON, Kan.) — Bank of America is closing at least two branches in Kansas later this year.

The bank's senior vice-president of media relations, Diane Wagner, confirmed to Eyewitness News that the branch in El Dorado will close on September 28 while the Hutchinson branch at 20 W. Second St. will close on September 21.

In an email, Wagner wrote that every year, "Bank of America evaluates and adjusts the distribution network to bring store coverage in balance with market opportunity."

A posting on BOA's website said the August branch at 645 State Street would also close on June 8.

The closings of the branches would leave customers in El Dorado without a Bank of America branch. The closest location will then be in Andover.

Hutchinson customers will still be able to bank at the branch in the 1600 blk of E. 17th St and the ATM inside the Dillons on West 5th.

Wagner says, customers will be notified 90 days prior to the closings. Letters will go out in June.

She adds Bank of America will "provide a variety of assistance including helping employees find employment opportunities within the company."
