Storm Team 12: Spotty storms; summer sizzle

May 25, 2012|By Meteorologist Mark Larson | Storm Team 12

As a warm front lifts across Kansas this afternoon, temperatures will once again soar with highs climbing back into the low to mid-90s along with gusty southerly winds.  A few storms are possible around the Dodge City to Hays area in the late afternoon.  Large hail and an isolated tornado or two will be possible near the warm front.

A series of weak weather-makers will traverse the Plains and Kansas Saturday through Monday sparking hit or miss storms from time to time but widespread soaking rains are not likely. We can expect more heat, stiff south winds and afternoon highs in the 90s through our holiday weekend..
