Grand Prairie jumped out to an early 3-0 lead against Wingnuts' starter Jose Perez. Andres Rodriguez led off the top of the second with a home run to left field. Greg Porter followed with a single to left and scored from first on a hit-and-run double to left-center from Brian Myrow. Myrow took third on David Thomas' groundout to second, and scored on Chavez's sacrifice fly.
