Mower accident kills man near Concordia

(CONCORDIA, Kan.) — A north-central Kansas man dies after his riding lawn mower rolls over the weekend.

The accident happened Saturday afternoon around 1:30 in rural Concordia. Our news partners at The Salina Journal report that 63-year-old Bob Johnson was mowing on a steep slope in the 1600 block of 160th Rd. The Journal reports that Johnson's mower tipped over and rolled, pinning Johnson underneath.

Passing drivers saw what happened and stopped to help. The drivers called 911 and were able to get the mower off of Johnson. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
