(SALINA, Kan.) — Salina Regional Health Center and the Lindsborg Community Hospital have formed a new affiliation.
Starting October 1, Salina Regional Health Center will take over management and operations of Lindsborg Community Hospital. The ownership of the hospital will not change and current employees will become employees of Salina Regional Health Center.
The two hospitals say the purpose is to increase services available in the Smoky Valley communities served by the Lindsborg hospital. The organizations say it will improve both efficiency and effectiveness of both hospitals.
The decision comes after more than a year of study and planning. Officials say nothing in the agreement will eliminate a patient's ability to choose their health care provider or where they receive services.
