June 08, 2012|By Meteorologist Mark Larson | Storm Team 12

Look for mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper-80s to near 90 degrees along with gusty southerly winds over central and western Kansas this afternoon.  It'll be a little breezy in eastern Kansas, with gusts over 20 common.

Highs this weekend will be even warmer as highs soar into the low to mid-90s for most of the state however parts of the west will likely see readings in the middle to upper-90s. The Goodland area is forecast to reach 100!  We can also expect more gusty southerly winds Saturday and Sunday under mostly sunny skies.

A cold front will work its way into northwest Kansas Sunday dropping highs into the 80s and also bring late day and evening/overnight storms to parts of the central and west. The front will slowly push southeastward Monday bringing scattered storms to the rest of our area.
