A cold front moving southeast across the state will bring a chance of showers or storms late today. Isolated severe weather is possible, with hail and wind the main concerns. Ahead of the front it will be warm, with afternoon highs in the 80s and 90s.
Summer officially arrives with the Solstice here in Kansas at 6:09 p.m.
The front, and the chances to get wet, will spread southeastward through Thursday morning followed by some slightly cooler temperatures that afternoon with highs in the 80s.
The heat relief won't last long as the mercury will quickly climb back to the 90s and then triple digits by the weekend.
