Storm Team 12: Day seven and counting

Related Links;

July 01, 2012|By Meteorologist Dean Jones | Storm Team 12

Yesterday marked the seventh day of 100 degree heat in Wichita and all indications point to adding to those numbers this week.  The mercury climbed to 103 degrees by 2:34 p.m. at Mid-Continent Airport.  Widely scattered thunderstorms brought welcome relief to some portions of western and northern Kansas overnight, however most missed out on the precipitation.

Another hot one is in the works for Sunday across Kansas, although it shouldn't be as hot as earlier in the work week.  Highs in the Wichita area will be close to the 100 degree mark, with more of the triple digits for the areas west.  After a few clouds this morning, plenty of sunshine will prevail!

Temperatures will be just shy of the century mark again Monday in Wichita but then for the rest of the holiday week, expect it to be 100 or hotter!  Dry weather conditions will continue for the next 7 days.
