Storm Team 12: Hot into the weekend

July 04, 2012|By Meteorologist Ross Janssen | Storm Team 12

The weather pattern doesn't change much for the next few days, so the heat continues for Kansas and surrounding areas.

Temperatures will drop into the 70s overnight with mainly clear skies and the winds will diminish in time for evening firework displays.

Look for a mix of sun and clouds for Thursday as much of the state will be back around 100 for afternoon highs. South winds will increase to 10-20 mph, but could be a little stronger in the west.

The weather story on Friday remains the same with highs near 100, sunshine, and south winds for the area.
