July 07, 2012|By Meteorologist Dean Jones | Storm Team 12

One more hot day with temperatures at or above the century mark for most of the state.  Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings this afternoon across most of central and eastern Kansas including Salina, Hutchinson and Wichita.  The good news; the heat wave that has dominated Kansas for the past couple of weeks, will come to an end Sunday.  A cold front slowly moving through the state will bring a cool down and a chance of rain to most areas on Sunday into Monday.

Tonight partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers and storms west and north with isolated storms possible in the south and east.

Look for milder temperatures and more clouds with a few showers and storms over the area on Sunday. Highs will range from 80 degrees in northwest Kansas to the mid-90s in the southeast.

Rain chances continue into Monday with temperatures at or slightly below normal to start the work week.
