July 08, 2012|By Meteorologist Ross Janssen | Storm Team 12

Scattered showers and storms will dot the landscape overnight and throughout Monday across Kansas. Severe storms are not likely, but gusty winds and heavy downpours will be common with stronger storms.

Storms could develop just about anywhere over Kansas in the nighttime hours with lows in the mid 60s west/lower 70s central and east. The winds will be under 15 mph.

On Monday, expect a mostly cloudy sky with chances for showers and storms statewide. Some of the rainfall could be heavy at times with temperatures staying in the 80s around the region. Northeast winds under 15 mph should be expected during the afternoon.

Drier weather is anticipated for Tuesday - Friday with temperatures gradually warming back up throughout the week.
