WPD investigating vandalism to popular downtown sculpture

(WICHITA, Kan.) — The Wichita Police Department is investigating a vandalism case involving a downtown Wichita sculpture.

That sculpture, commonly referred to as "The Troll," sits under a drainage gate near the Westar building at 777 W. Central.

City employees discovered one of the arms on the 7-foot troll was missing.

No word yet on when the vandalism occurred or what it will cost to repair it.

"The Troll" was sculpted by local artist Constance Ernatt and installed in 2007 as part of the Keeper of the Plains Plaza project.
