(WICHITA,Kan) — It's not only the biggest movie of the summer...it's arguably the most anticipated blockbuster to hit the big screen in several years.

Christopher Nolan's"The Dark Knight Rises" has been three years in the making, Batman is planned to rack up big bucks at the box office...most likely record breaking numbers when it's all said and done.

The Warren IMAX theater in Wichita plans to have people lining up as early as Thursday evening for the midnight showing of the movie. Batman fans will be ushered into the IMAX theater sometime before 10 p.m. according to Warren Theater management.

Eyewitness News spoke to some of the fans that hung out in line for a very long time. Folks at the very front of the line said that they had a group of six or seven friends attending the summer flick. They said they were working in shifts in line until they were let into the theater. The first shift of friends showed up to the Warren IMAX at 6 a.m., that is well before the theater even opens.

Many folks were decked out in full Batman attire while they waited, the most popular costume was of course the hero Bruce Wayne. Others that were on hand included some famous Batman villains such as "The Joker", "Two Face" and "The Riddler". In "The Dark Knight Rises" the villain is "Bane", a super strong and smart foe to Bruce Wayne, plenty of "Bane" costumes (even some homemade) were on-hand for the premiere at the Warren IMAX.
