Strong winds flatten mobile home in Nickerson

July 20, 2012|by KWCH 12 Eyewitness News

(NICKERSON, Kan.) — The storm that went through the Reno County town of Nickerson wasn't big and it didn't last long, but the winds were strong enough to flatten a mobile home.

Reno County Emergency Management Specialist Todd Strain says the winds hit the Eastview Village community Thursday afternoon around 5:00 p.m.

The mobile home was vacant.  "I don't think there was even any furniture in it," said Strain.

No-one was hurt, but crews found debris from the mobile home two and three blocks away.
