July 24, 2012|By Meteorologist Ross Janssen | Storm Team 12

Much of Kansas is anxiously awaiting some rainfall, and as a cold front sweeps through the area Wednesday night, there should be some scattered storms over the area.

Dry weather is anticipated overnight with lows in the 70s as south winds continue for much of the area.

Expect more hot weather on Wednesday ahead of the cold front. Temperatures will once again hit 100 for much of the state. South winds will be rather gusty, but should change to the north across northwest Kansas as the front moves through during the afternoon. Scattered storms will start developing Wednesday evening and should spread south and east through the night.

A few lingering storms are expected for Thursday, but most of it will be over by mid afternoon. Temperatures will be back in the mid 90s for much of the area.
