Heat advisories remain in effect for a large portion of Kansas through the weekend as heat index values reach the 103-109 range over the central and east.
Temperatures Saturday afternoon will top out around 105 under a mostly sunny sky with southerly winds. A few isolated storms could clip far northern Kansas Saturday evening and again late Sunday but most of us will stay dry. Sunday looks even hotter with afternoon highs near 110 for some along with more sunshine and southerly winds.
We can expect the heat beat to roll on though most of next week too as highs stay in the 100-105 range. Other than a slight chance of a few storms across northern sections of our state Monday, expect the severe drought conditions to continue with no significant rain in sight next week.
