Storm Team 12: Dangerous heat; too dry

July 31, 2012|By Meteorologist Mark Larson | Storm Team 12

The hot area of upper-level high pressure will continue to dominate our weather picture through the rest of the week and into the first full week of August. So don't look for any dramatic changes in our weather yet.

This afternoon will be toasty again with highs soaring back to near 105 except over far western and northern Kansas where highs will stay in the upper 90s. Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies are forecast this afternoon with light winds around our area.

Expect the heat beat to roll though this weekend with highs 100-105 range. We are looking at a decent chance for showers and storms to arrive late Friday out in western Kansas then push into the eastern half of the state Saturday.
