Although some storms will move through Kansas overnight, the heat continues to be the dominant feature in the atmosphere for the next several days.
Showers and storms should move across northern Kansas overnight, with the best chance for rain north of I-70. Lows will drop back into the 70s for much of the state.
Morning clouds on Thursday will slowly thin out and leave behind mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. It will be hot with highs back above 100 for most areas, except in the northwest where highs will only be in the mid 90s.
Although a few storms may develop Thursday night in southern Kansas, much of the area will be dry into Friday. An approaching cold front Saturday will bring storm chances back to the area for the weekend.
