(SALINA, Kan.) — A body found in Lincoln County could be that of a missing Saline County man, thought to be the victim of foul play.
Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski tells our news partners at The Salina Journal that his office was notified Wednesday evening by the KBI that it received information about the location of a body in Lincoln County.
Positive identification has not been made, but investigators say the body could be that of 37-year-old Jeffrey Powell. Powell has not been seen since July 31st. Investigators say his disappearance is a case of foul play.
29-year-old Kyle Nelson was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with Powell's death. He is currently in the Saline County Jail.
Kochanowski tells the Journal that the body was taken to Kansas City for an autopsy. A final identification could be made later on Thursday.
